Lord Voldemort was never immortal. He spent the majority of his life trying to make sure that he would never truly die, but he did this by creating Horcruxes which were destroyed. Once Harry had sourced and destroyed all of the Horcruxes, there was nothing different about Voldemort. So when he was hit by a killing curse he died, just like anybody would.

He wasn't really immortal.

He isn't. Voldemort died in the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

He managed to return in the fouth book because he had created Horcruxes. Horcruxes are objects which contain part of a persons soul, which splits after killing somebody. In Voldemort's case, he made seven Horcruxes - one by accident.

Reminder: Lord Voldemort is a ficticious character, from the Harry Potter fantasy stories. Anyway, according to the story, he really died in the end. It seems unlikely that he will somehow "resurrect" in a later story.
