I think Negi actually loves Asuna sooooo mucht hat he will do anything. No he does not. If you read the last few chapters of the manga, Negi tells Asuna who it is and she says that you two are the same Type of people. Therefore, she doesn't reference herself at all making the "yes" statement false. It never was told who Negi likes, but I'm guessing it's Anya.
