most definitely not...jack Johnson has been renowned worldwide for his singing, but an inventor is something he is not...look that up elsewhere.

I think whoever asked the question "Did Jack Johnson invent the wrench?" is referring to the first black wrestling champion, otherwise known as the "Galveston Giant" --while the first wrench was invented by Solymon Merrick in 1835, African American Jack Johnson did patent his own version of the wrench, while working in prison in 1922
