It was never mentioned in the films. In the books, Luke didn't know, in fact in one trilogy someone misled him about his mother's homeworld and he visited some other world thinking it was his mother's.

According to the original Star Wars trilogy, Luke never knew the identity of his mother, as it was never told to him by Yoda, Vader, Obi Wan, or anyone who was alive at the time to know. In Episode VI: The Empire Strikes Back, when Luke is talking to Princess Leia on the moon Endor, he mentioned, "I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her."
