disadvantages:

  • Being poor, desperate and vulnerable to parasites.
  • Working and living with other actors.
  • Developing an obsession with ones physical and psychological appearance.
  • Being part of an art form which is tedious, predictable, and stagnant.
  • stage fright.
  • Only being asked to do types of movies that your not into. e.g. romance, comedy ect

advantages:

  • being an actor is like wearing a mask, you can act in ways that you normally wouldn't
  • working and living with other actors (it can be positive too!)
  • meeting lots of talented people and getting to work with them.
  • learning the benefits of being professional. (although I'll admit many actors still havent learned this)
  • possibly doing what you love. isn't that what counts in the long run? that your not stuck behind a desk doing something you hate?
