In the USA, the following rule applies:

If you are under the age of 17, the law requires a parent or adult age 21 or older to be with the 17 year old through the entire movie. Even a written note of "permission" from an adult (age 21 or over) does not change the law.

As long As you have your i.d stating that your over 18, then yes most cinemas will let you have someone either 15 or over, if you take full responisbility for them. Tho sometimes its not the case. Some cinema;s refuse admission to the person under 18 if they donot have parent or guardian supervision.

Of course. You have to be 17 to buy a ticket for an R-rated movie, but as far as I know, there is no restriction on the number of tickets you can buy. Why on earth would there be?

The MPAA says that anyone 17 or over can buy 'R' ticket for themselves or anyone they are a parent or guardian for. Technically if you show up with 4 ten-year-olds and try to buy them 'R' tickets, the theater may question you.
