The idea appears to have some merit. a huge spike in juvenile crime, particularily violent crime and also illiteracy can be in some very real degree tied to TV. Likewise certain types of media scares. If you want news you can get it on the internet or better yet Radio (make you think, unlike TV) and newspaper- reading required! I have been off TV in toto for about twenty years- a brief hiatus around 200l-03 then when they changed frequencies- a cessation without any loss effects. Prefer Radio, PS I am a writer.
