Try watching SouthLAnd it's kind of like the US version of Rookie Blue. It's about the LAPD.
There is also Flashpoint which is also Canadian and placed in Toronto. It's about the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), based on Toronto Police Service Emergency Task Force (ETF). It's a good show, lots of hostage negotiation and disarming explosives. Lots of action and tactical stuff.
Not sure what else, I was kind of wondering the same thing.
If you like SCI kinda shows there are, CSI Miami, CSI New York, Castle, Criminal Minds, Dexter and lots more.
Also watch 24, it is an awesome action type show about a Counter Terrorist Unit called CTU. Everything occurs in real time.
Oh and try The Shield. I just found it lol. I haven't watched it yet but I'm about to. I'm curious to see what it's like. :) Have fun!

there are a lot of good shows out there, but most of them are really bad. i end to like most of abc family's series, which it sounds like you watch, but there are a few othres that arent as great, but they arent too bad: Degrassi, Victorious, Make it or break it (i dont like it at all, but you could see if you do)
