Im not sure I quite understand the question, if you are looking for a synonym, in movie terminology the effect they are trying to create would be known as suspense, as in a suspenseful movie. A better descriptive word however would be tense. If you are looking to tone down your anxiety in Horror movies I would suggest herbal measures that reduce anxiety. One such herbal remedy is sutherlandia frutescens.

well the anxious feeling you might get at a scary movie will be a combination of differnent things. Anxiety, paranoid, grossed out, freaked out, everything. Why? Youve never watched a scary movie before?

At a scary movie you might get anxious about a lot of things. You could have a panic attack in the movie from being overwhelmed or edit the movie with an irrational fear of the dark or the creatures in the film.

Feeling "scared" or "afraid" can have many levels, from mild to overwhelming. Or as you said, "anxious" (mild fear) to "terrified" (overwhelming fear).
