A long ago, there lived a jeweler. He was satisfied with the fact that, he had a prosperousbusiness and had three sons to look after the business after him. Everything was going right for him and there was nothing less than a dream for him.
During the course of the time, all his three sons were married and three new ladies entered their house. This is when the troubles started for the aging jeweler. It dawned to him that, his sons started to fight amongst themselves to get the bigger share of the entire property.
But what was the reason for this to happen? Well, it was the wives of the three sons who were instigating their husbands to do all this. Yesterday's brothers were today's enemies and this was not going well with their father.
These developments were taking a heavy toll on his mind as well as his body. He was literally on death-bed, yet worried about his sons. Finally, he thought of an idea. He asked all his three sons to bring a bundle of five sticks. They all obeyed him. He then asked to break the entire bundle of sticks.
All the three of them tried with their entire might, but could not break the bundle at all. He then asked them to unite the bundle and gave each stick to one of them. He again ordered them to break the single-stick. This time they were successful.
The message was passed on. If they behaved as an individual, they ran the risk of falling apart. If they stood like a bundle of sticks, anyone could hardly do them any harm.
No doubt, union is strength.

Harrison Bergeron, the protagonist of the story, has exceptional intelligence, height, strength and beauty, and as a result he has to bear enormous handicaps. These include distracting noises, three hundred pounds of excess weight, eyeglasses to give him headaches and cosmetic changes to make him ugly.Despite these societal handicaps, he is able to invade a TV station and declare himself emperor. As he strips himself of his handicaps, then dances with a ballerina whose handicaps he has also discarded, both are shot dead by the Handicapper General. The story is framed by an additional perspective from Bergeron's parents, who are watching TV but cannot concentrate enough to remember the incident. For more information on the novel, characters, and themes, please visit the eNotes link below.

The fable is called "The Tortoise and the Hare." The moral of the story is that consistency and perseverance are more important than relying solely on talent or speed.

An allegory is a descriptive story that is used to convey a particular moral or belief indirectly, typically through symbolism and figurative language. It aims to teach a lesson or highlight a universal truth through the narrative of characters or events. Examples include Aesop's fables and Plato's "Allegory of the Cave."
The moral lesson of "The Little Match Girl" is to show compassion and empathy towards others, especially those less fortunate. It serves as a reminder to be grateful for what we have and to be kind to those in need. The story highlights the importance of generosity and kindness in a world full of suffering.
