Most Nazi scientific efforts were guided by military considerations, they were especially fruitful in the areas of rocket propulsion, jet propulsion, and missile guidance. To name a few:

V-1: The first operational, powered, UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle), first pulse-jet-propelled air craft, first cruise missile.

V-2: The first operational, short range, ballistic missile. It achieved sub-orbital space flight at an altitude of approximately 80 km.

Rheinbote: The second operational, short range, ballistic missile, designed to replace or augment large bore artillery pieces.

Ruhrstahl X-4: The first wire-guided ATA (Air-To-Air) missile, developed & tested, but never deployed.

ME163: The first operational, manned, rocket-propelled air craft.

ME262: The first operational, manned, jet-propelled air craft.

Der Wasserfall (The Waterfall): The first developed, but never deployed, rocket-propelled STA (Surface To Air), guided missile. Today it would be called a SAM.

Henschel Hs 293: The first operational, Anti ship, Rocket-propelled, guided missile (It began as Fritz X, a stand-off, radio-controlled, gliding bomb (also, a first); then the engine was added to allow low altitude delivery and to increase range and stand-off distance.)

Henschel Hs 293D: As above, but television guided (never deployed).
