The common image of a computer programmer is that of a technically advanced person who keeps to themselves, except for the occasional cyber talk online, basically a nerd. TV shows and movies have portrayed any person that works with computers often as the stereotypical nerd. Although books may tend to talk more of programmers as the average Joe that does above average work, and when I say this I am of course thinking of non fiction books.

What is random scan graphics?

It is of 3-D A single image random dot stereogram (SIRDS) is a computer-generated image consisting of seemingly random dots or lines, which, when viewed properly, coalesce into a previously unseen 3-D illusion. To see the hidden illusion, the viewer must relax the eyes and focus on a point in space behind the image. SIRDS work in the same way that stereoscopes, anaglyphs, and Polaroid 3-D movies do. Each eye receives a slightly different image, which the brain integrates into a single 3-D illusion. SIRDS became popular in the early 1990s with the Magic Eye series of books.

There is always a confusion among the newbies about the difference between Image Processing and Computer Graphics. Unless specifically mentioned , Computer Graphics is all about Synthesizing a new image from Geometry , Lighting parameters , Materials and Textures . The Emphasis is on Digital Image Synthesis. Image Processing is the process of manipulating an image acquired through some device . The image too often will be acquired from photographs, scanners , medical equipments. The emphasis is on Analysis and Enhancement of the image. Computer Vision is an area where Image Analysis is used a lot. Raster Operations dominate in the case of image processing.
