Commands that a computer can run vary from the level from which the commands were run from.

  1. In the most general form, commands to a computer, more specifically to the microprocessor or processor of the computer are called as assembly level instructions. They are complex and directly address the processor telling what to do.
  2. A level below the assembly level instructions are know as the machine code or OP Code. They are the ones that assembly level language is translated into.
  3. At a higher level, They are called as Programs. They are executed or run by using the computer's operating system, and simplify work for you.
  4. Programs themselves are created by using what is called as a computer programming language. They are specialized languages that a computer understands and a programmer codes to instruct the computer to perform certain tasks.
