a properly designed motor wont overheat unless it is overloaded

this is something like 3/4" drill with a 1/4" shaft that is used to drill in steel

sometimes hole saws have a 1/4" mandrel that will hold the entire line of saws

the motor must be matched to the load

The main cause of overheating is a lack of sufficient ventilation.

Another cause is an excessive load.

What causes DC motor to revolve?

What causes a dc motor to rotate is the presence of electromagnetic forces.

What is the main difference between dc motor and dc servo motor?

A DC motor is an electric motor that turns on the application of a DC current. A DC Servo motor is similar but it produces a DC current from a mechanic movement of the armateur or may also produce small movement from the application of low current.. An example of a servo motor is as was used in steering gears and auto pilots. The physical turning of the wheel either caused a current to flow or caused an inbalance in the electrical systems, this causes a counter action to restore the original position.

Why current is supplied to DC motor?

Current is supplied to a DC motor to create a magnetic field that interacts with the stationary magnetic field in the motor, resulting in a force that causes the motor to rotate. The current flowing through the motor's coils generates the electromagnetic force necessary for the motor to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.

What is a DC shunt motor?

A DC shunt motor is a motor using DC supply with the the inductor connected parallel to the armature.

What is dc motor with synchoronous operation?

A synchronous motor is an ac motor that does not run on dc.

What causes a meter to read negative voltage across a DC motor?

The main cause for a meter to read negative voltage across a DC motor is a loose ground wire. The ground wire can be loose or may need to be cleaned.

Can DC series motor work on ac and DC and why?

A dc series motor can work on dc and ac because dc motors are totally reversible.

Can a DC dynamo act as a DC motor?

Yes it can and the otherway aroud a DC motor can be used as a dynamo

How does a DC brushless motor work?

To state it simply, a DC brushless motor is not a DC motor. It is an AC motor with an inverter (or electronic commutator) on the front end to make the AC, so you can use a DC input.

What are the disadvantages of DC motor?

It depends entirely on the motor design. The only universal disadvantage of a DC motor (vs. an AC motor) is the need for a DC power supply (DC power is more difficult to transmit efficiently over long distances, hence the use of AC for typical power grids). Typical brushed DC motors (the cheapest and hence one of the most common type of DC motor) tend to wear out eventually due to friction and draw MUCH higher current when stalled than when turning, which can cause overheating. They are also typically heavier than AC motors with similar specs. Of course all of these problems can be eliminated by using a (slightly more complex) brush-less motor design.
