A moment can be anywhere from a few seconds, up to a minute. Generally, a moment is defined as a point in time lasting from 1-3 seconds.

In Old English, a moment was an exact measurement of time being 1.5 seconds or 1/40th of one minute. However, in more modern English usage it has simply meant an inexact and brief length of time.

Well. I have heard 2 answers, both are similar.

The first was that a Moment is a medieval measurement of time being 1/40 of an hour, or 90 seconds, (1.5 Minutes).

But the second one was that it is 1/40 of a minute or 1.5 seconds.

Both seem reasonable but I also heard that it has to do with an angular measurement.

Perhaps it is the amount of time it takes for the earth to rotate x number of degrees?.
