In some cases yes. If the stainless steel was not passified (removing iron particles left on stainless steel by contact with tool steel dies) with nitric or sulfuric acid then yes.
hardness of martensite is greater than bionite and fine pearlite.
It's a thread that's been formed by rolling the piece while hot between two dies.

Taps and dies are used in threading. To make an internal thread, you drill a hole smaller than the thread width, then slowly screw a 'tap' into it cutting a thread very slowly. -For an external thread, you choose a rod or bolt larger than the final thread, then screw a hard, threaded disc down onto it.

Dies are used for creating a thread or repairing an existing thread on metal bar or bolt. Dies come in a full range of sizes.
Can make with grind or machne.
Yes, the thread will also terminate if the process it is running in terminates. The thread is dependent upon the processes it is running. If the processes die the thread dies.

There is a small set screw on the side of the die itself. It all depends on the die being either a thread chasing die or not. Thread chasing dies are used to restore old threads and can't be adjusted. The set screw can be tightened or loosened accordingly to match the thread pitch.
Hypodermic needles are normally made from a stainless-steel tube drawn through progressively smaller dies to make the needle. The end is bevelled to create a sharp pointed tip. This lets the needle easily penetrate the skin.
yes, because if process is terminated then its related thread has no work. After completion of process the kernel generates a thread that will cancelled the thread in order to save the time and memory of CPU.

Most dies now use a standard thread, so you can use different brands of dies with different brands of presses. I use RCBS, Lyman and Dillon dies in a Lee press.
