∙ 15y agoDevices used to open an electrical circuit are called OCPD's. (overcurrent protection devices) The most common are circuit breakers and fuses. In commercial motor starters they often employ another OCPD called a "heater" (UK thermal fuse) which is a metal strip which melts like the element in a small fuse when too much current (amps) go through it. They devices are in the circuit primarily to protect the wiring and devices they power. Circuit breakers such as in your home panel do protect you from a "shorted" circuit. Another safety and most common in residences are GFCI's or ground fault circuit interrupters (UK ELCB, Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker or RCD, Residual Current Detector) which come as both a receptacle (female plug) or as a circuit breaker.

dear sir, Please issue me no objection certificate for change name of electricity bill.
A capacitor nominally has no inductance, which is lucky because there is no such device to mesure it with.
volt meter is the device that helps to maintain a potential difference across a conductor

A device that controls or limits the flow of electricity is called a resistor.
An insulator is a material or device that stops or prevents the flow of electricity.
An insulator is a material that stops or reduces the flow of electricity.
The flow of electricity beginning with "f" is called an electric current.
The name "electromagnet" comes from the combination of "electricity" and "magnet." When an electric current flows through a wire, it creates a magnetic field around the wire, leading to the creation of an electromagnet. This device can be turned on and off by controlling the flow of electricity.
That doesn't require any special device - it is part of the natural interaction between electricity and magnetism. However, devices that make practical use of this include electric motors, and generators.
Anode The name for a positive charge conductor through which electrons flow into a device is called the life conductor.
A remote racking device is the name of a safety device that is fitted to ensure a circuit breaker cannot be racked out when closed.

A substance that lets electricity flow through it is called a conductor (or sometimes, to be more explicit, it is called an electrical conductor). Substances which do not permit the flow of electricity are called insulators.
