Business Studies, is the study of business process, it gives you an in depth knowledge about businesses. For example, it would tell you all about marketing. The difference.. In Applied Business it would tell you all about marketing, but you have to apply to a business. For example, it would tell you how marketing applied to a business, how they use it.
