There are many Chinese zodiac signs, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

They are the symbols for many different birth dates and are supposed to describe your personality, much like American Zodiac signs. But, things are not just that simple! There is an animal representing each year, but the year is actually defined by Chinese lunar calendar, not the Gregorian year you are familiar with from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. As you may know, a Solar calendar is a system based on the 365 days earth orbits around the sun, They constructed a calendar of 365 days, consisting of 12 months of 30 days each, with 5 days added at the year's end. So 2009=Ox, 2002= Horse, 2004= Monkey, 2014= Horse, and Lunar New Year ended on Friday February 12th Btw. Hope this helps!
