Stop to think that UFO stands for unidentified flying object. If I don't know what it is, it's a UFO. And if a UFO is what I really want to see, then a UFO it is. The whole idea sparks curiosity and enlivens the imagination. It's something like a beautifully performed magic trick. You are enthralled by it, and you beg to know how it is done. When you know, the spell is broken.

It can't. But this is usually the standard answer when our officials are faced with UFO sightings. I thought that after Roswell, they wouldn't use this excuse again, but I was amazed to hear that they use the weather balloon story over and over.

UFO is an abbreviation for unidentified flying object. If I throw a paper plane high into the air and you don't see me do it, but do see the plane but can't make out what it is, you will have seen a UFO.
