Television is almost entirely funded by advertising..
I think what you are trying to say is that film is an "example of" mass communication. In other words, film (or movies) is one of the mass media. A mass medium sends out a message to a large and often distant and anonymous audience; we don't know who is listening to our radio show or who is reading our book, and the audience could come from anywhere. (And by the way, "medium" is singular-- radio is a mass medium. Radio and television are mass "media," plural.) Examples of mass media are radio, TV, movies, books, magazines, the internet, and newspapers. All of these are in the category known as "mass communication."
Top-Down media refers to media hierarchies where a small number of producers disseminate content to the masses (i.e. film and television production companies) compared to more circular forms of media where everyone can participate (i.e. YouTube).
Television significantly transformed various industries by creating new advertising opportunities, driving demand for content production, and influencing consumer behavior. The advertising industry evolved as brands shifted focus to visual storytelling, leading to the rise of commercial television. Additionally, it spurred growth in the film and music industries, as TV programs began to integrate and promote movies and songs, ultimately changing how audiences consumed entertainment. Overall, television became a central medium that reshaped marketing strategies and content creation across multiple sectors.
A media text is any form of communication that conveys information, ideas, or entertainment through various mediums, such as television, film, print, digital platforms, or social media. It can be analyzed based on its content, structure, audience, purpose, and the techniques used to engage viewers or readers. Media texts often reflect cultural values and societal issues, making them important for understanding the context in which they were created. Ultimately, they serve as a lens through which we can examine and interpret the world around us.
A line producer focuses on the day-to-day management of a film or television production, overseeing the budget, scheduling, and logistics to ensure that the project runs smoothly and stays on track. In contrast, a producer generally has a broader role that encompasses the overall vision and creative direction of the project, including financing, hiring key personnel, and making high-level decisions. While both roles are essential, the line producer is more concerned with the practical execution, whereas the producer is involved in the project's inception and development.
The skills are very similar, only with different terminology. The main difference is what you are using to record with, and what you are recording. It can be film or digital media. What you study are almost the same in both video and film. Sometimes you study them both because in this field most employees migrate from one to the other.

Different Actors - Different pay. TV actors are paid less than Film actors. Again it would differ depending on the popularity of the actor. This goes for both TV & Film. It is difficult to average out.
A film script is what directors use to make there film what it is. They get a bunch of different scripts from different writers or sometimes the same one and the director picks the one he likes the most. They make the film and it goes to Hollywood to become famous. Once there it goes into your local movie theaters and than to DVD and TV.
