Normally, adult flamingos have yellow eyes with a pink circle surrounding it. However, one species of flamingo, called the North Tanzanian lesser flamingo, do have red eyes. This is to do with the flamingo's diet of brine shrimp and red algae. As a result the pigment of the two foods cause the pinkish hue of the feathers and the red eyes that you see. I also think that it plays a role in selecting a mate during breeding (darker shades of red mean better mates)
