Duck senses respond to the earths magnetic feild, male are attracted to the north pole and females the south, occaisionally ducks get confused and males go south and females go north , this results into a homosexual wave to spread through the duck population resulting in the extinction of several species of bible bashing ducks.
Real Answear: Remember when you were that age? You didnt want to be around girls niether, they got cooties
Its the only way to get around. They do not know what to do because this is a learned behavoir. You dont just know what to do when your born, just like we didnt know how to walk or where to go, we had to learn this from our parents.. Ducks and other species do the same things... i hope this helped... thank you
Most of the time if you take the ducklings from the mother they will see you as their mother and follow you around so it might be hard to put them back with her and make them stay with her. So I don't know if I would remove them from her or not You are best off leaving the ducklings with the hen rather than removing them. Especially if you want mom to do the raising of the ducklings.

A young duck is called a duckling. Ducklings are typically fuzzy and cute, and they stay close to their mother for protection and guidance.
This is an example of imprinting, a process where a young animal forms an attachment to the first moving object it sees after hatching. The ducklings associate the person with their mother figure and follow them accordingly.
If they are with a mother, pretty soon after they hatch, but if they are not, once thy get all of their feathers.
Ducklings hatch from eggs, just like all birds.
Ducks typically lay around 7-15 eggs in a clutch, although this can vary depending on the species. After the ducklings hatch, they are known as ducklings and a mother duck can have as many ducklings as there were eggs in her nest.
