The Black swan (Cygnus atratus) is a species of swan which is native to Australia. It has also been introduced to New Zealand.
The Black swan is mostly black, apart from a deep orange-red beak with a paler tip, and white tips on its wings which are visible in flight. Although it is the avian emblem of Western Australia, it is found throughout Australia, except for Cape York Peninsula.
