hi  but i have a test and i have a feeling this is wrong.

High biodiversity in an ecosystem can increase resilience to environmental changes because different species may fulfill similar roles, providing backup if one species declines. It also enhances ecosystem services such as nutrient cycling, pollination, and natural pest control, contributing to the overall health and stability of the ecosystem. Additionally, high biodiversity can lead to increased productivity and biomass in an ecosystem as more diverse species are present to utilize resources efficiently.

Since species are always in competition for available resources, diversity will increase in response to competition for those resources. Any gains by one species will naturally be at the expense of another. What this means is that as one species does more poorly, it's competitors do better, and the result is that disturbances will not be as detrimental to the entire system as they might be since the losses are offset by gains.

An ecosystem with high what will have a wide variety of types of organisms living in it?

An ecosystem with high biodiversity will have a wide variety of types of organisms living in it. Biodiversity refers to the variety of species within an ecosystem, and ecosystems with high biodiversity are healthier and more resilient to changes in the environment. Essentially, the more diverse a habitat is, the more different species it can support.

The sum total of the variety of organisms in the biosphere is called?

Biodiversity. It refers to the variety of species, genetic diversity within species, and ecosystem diversity in a given area. High biodiversity is essential for the health and stability of ecosystems.

What is higher productivity a more stable ecosystem and reduced competition all benefits of?

These benefits are all associated with biodiversity. High biodiversity can lead to higher productivity as each species plays a unique role in maintaining ecosystem functions. A more stable ecosystem can result from a diverse array of species, providing resilience against disturbances. Reduced competition occurs when there are sufficient niches available for different species to coexist harmoniously.

What affect do keystone species have on an ecosystem?

Keystone species play a crucial role in maintaining the structure and function of an ecosystem. They have a disproportionate impact on the community relative to their abundance, often influencing species diversity and ecosystem stability. Their presence can regulate population sizes, enhance biodiversity, and promote overall ecosystem health.

An extreme disturbance happens in an ecosystem. How does an ecosystem change as succession happens after this disturbance?

Biodiversity in the ecosystem increases. JAIRO MAYEN YALL!
