There are many advantages. You gain customer appreciation which means you would regularly get income. You do learn better ways to apply your own makeup and do your own hair. You can easily access discounts on multiple beauty appliances for your job (and yourself). You make many people happy and improve any skills you might already have.

You can get lice. If your doing someones nail and you have open cuts on you hands and they have an STD, you can get it. If you mess up a cut or color on a customer they can actually sue you for it. If people have skin rashes or diseases you can contract them. I'd go into more detail but I'm a little strapped for time. :)
