As of Oct 28, 2008 the price is around 89 cents per pound (lb) for scrap brass
depends on what type of brass, but probably close to $2 per pound, depending on the area. There are different grades of brass scrap - red brass scrap and yellow brass scrap. Red brass scrap has more value at the scrap yard.

Brass prices right now are just over $1 a pound. If you are selling scrap you will get a little less as the scrap yard needs to make a profit too.
Depending on grade of brass you should be able to get between $2 and $3 per pound. Update April 15 2011 - Brass scrap prices have significantly risen and even though they are off the 2011 highs, scrap yards are paying upwards of $3.00 per pound for clean brass.
