The manual trans holds 8 pints of gear oil (75W90). Full synthetic is your best choice.
It requires gear oil and its a combination trans and diff. Usually 75 80 or 80 90 gear oil is used. bottom of trans there are two plugs, one for fill and the other for drain.
The transmission does not take gear oil. The auto uses ATF+4 and the manual uses manual trans fluid.
Just push the button on gear shift and let off gas thanback on -if everything is working you are in overdrive!

As long as it is out of gear and the brakes are off.
If it is a manual trans, the shift linkage might be loose, bent, or damaged.
