In Maine, a car will not pass inspection if the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) light is illuminated. The presence of the ABS light indicates a potential issue with the braking system, which is a critical safety component. Inspectors are required to ensure that all safety features, including the ABS, are functioning properly for the vehicle to pass. If the ABS light is on, the vehicle must be repaired before it can pass inspection.
