The easy answer is NO, but if you were to take the vin to the manufacturer they could tell you what type of engine the vehicle was originally fitted with ie; 4,6,8 cyl the actual original engine capacity can be obtained through manufacturer records depending on the age of the vehicle. Some vehicles did only offer single engine capacities in selected model/cyl configurations so if you are lucky enough to be searching for one of these then the VIN could be enough!!
