Yes, the 247 will bind in corners if the proper fluid is not used.
Buy a transfer case either used or rebuilt that is correct for the vehical. Depending on options exterior items may need changing, but no diasembly of the case will be needed. Do not buy a "231D" transfer case. These were used on several diferent manufacturers and have profound difrences that will be a nightmare. It is actually fairly straight forward if you purchase the right part.
Your 4 wheel drive actuator might be the problem but it could also be that your spider gears in the transfer case are worn down to where they dont stay connected OR could be that your low on fluid or missing your filler cap for the transfer case
That is a must, It has to have fluid in it are it will burn up.
well when gm designed there line of automobiles they were drinking, therefore not thinking very clear "dont drink and design"
go to the dealership & ask them , If they dont sell them . go to mopar they sell everything.
totally dont do it from there because they dont upload properly
i dont know if u dont know i dont know
You dont have to, you are entitled to do it properly.
when under the truck looking at the transfer case there is a plug that a 3/8 rive ratchet will fit in to, take it out then you will have to get an evacuator to pull the fluid old fluid out, u will need an air compressor also, if u dont have this equipent, thn your best bet is to go to an oil lube shop and have them do it its not very expensive.
