A key fob battery is a small, coin-shaped battery that powers a car’s remote keyless entry system. It allows the fob to send signals to the vehicle, enabling functions like locking or unlocking doors, starting the engine remotely, or opening the trunk. Most key fobs use lithium coin cell batteries, such as CR2032 or CR2025. Over time, the battery can lose power, leading to reduced range or complete failure of the fob. Replacing the battery is usually quick and inexpensive, and it restores full functionality to the key fob. Regular replacement helps avoid unexpected issues with vehicle access or ignition.
No.
You put the key in the ignition and turn, you don't need a fob in order to start a car.
It is possible to program one key fob to use on two different cars. If the key fob uses a primitive fixed code system, programming two cars will not work.

In most cases if you call your local Chevrolet dealer, give the parts dept. your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) you can order a key fob for that car.
The key fob uses radio frequency signals to communicate with the car's security system. When the button on the key fob is pressed, it sends a signal to the car's receiver, which then unlocks the doors or starts the engine.
Well that question is too general. What year and what make is the vehicle? Is it a brand new key fob? If it is brand new it may need to be programed to the vehicle. The battery may be dead in the fob. The fob may also have a broken contact inside of it. I recommend taking your key fob and vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis.
