1) Low coolant level?
2) Radiator restricted with leaves or other debris?
3) water pump not circulating coolant properly?
4) defective thermostat?
5) system airbound?
6) coolant fan (if any) not operating?
7) radiator hoses collapsing?
Check the electric fan to see if it is working.
There are 2 fans that would be running while you are driving and that is normal... the compressor fan if you have the air conditioner running and the radiator fan runs to help keep the radiator cool while the engine is on.
Check your oxygen senser, fuel filter, or cool pack
Change your serpentine belt
cool hello
While your car is running the engine is heating up. While your driving you have air being forced over the radiator cooling it off. When you are sitting still you don't have that air so your engine is heating up even more so the cooling fan comes on to help cool you engine off. Via cooling the radiator.
uhhh... isn't this supposed to be a smash bros question? it would be cool if dry bowser were on smash bros though
I'm cool like that you know! And why aren't you sitting on noodles? :)
When a vehicle is idling, the engine may not produce enough heat to warm the coolant effectively, leading to cold air from the heater. In contrast, while driving, the engine works harder and generates more heat, allowing the heater to blow warm air. The engine temperature can rise while idling due to reduced airflow through the radiator and less coolant circulation, while driving increases airflow and coolant flow, helping to cool the engine.
Don't drive drunk, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, don't text while driving, don't talk on your phone while driving, keep your eyes on the road while driving, etc. Go get some pills for depression. Find Christ. Stop thinking it is cool to be "sad".
SOMETIMES WHEN THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE GOES OR IS GOING BAD IT WOULD CAUSE THESE PROBLEMS IT MAY CAUSE MISSFIRE/MISSING,AND OR HARD OR NO STARTING. '''THIS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE GETS HOT'''. AFTER SITTING FOR A WHILE IT'LL COOL OFF AND WORK AGAIN. IF THE BATTERY WAS BAD BY LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR A WHILE WOULD REALLY MAKE NO DIFFRENCE. BATTERIES DON'T GET CHARGE JUST SITTING.(VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE ON) HOW DOES THE VEHICLE CRANKS.NORMAL,SLOW,NO CRANK?
The radiator fan is not working,or not working properly,or possibly the thermostat is bad. But,usually if the thermostat is bad the engine would still overheat even if you speed up,so I would suggest testing the radiator cooling fans.
