Try 32 thousands, to start, depends on how much compression the engine has at this point.
You could try cleaning the spark plug. That worked for us. Take the spark plug out with a wrench and use sandpaper to clean it.
check your coil out
Might be in your ignition : lose wire, bad switch : when it won't start check for spark .

I have a 14.5 Briggs and Stratton engine on a Ranch King riding mower that will not start. After spraying starter fluid into the head, and air cleaner it fires for a second, but will not run. It is getting gas.....coil??? or something else?
Because its a pos I have a brand new one that won't start.
Put fresh gas and stabilizer in it, and prime it with the red prime button. I just bought one from a guy who couldn't start it. Now that I know it will start, I will change the oil and maybe put a new spark plug in it.

So, if your getting gas - then it has to be spark or compression....put the 3 together and laws of science say you get a bang!
It is the whole assembly containing the pull start (if applicable) or the metal or plastic shroud surrounding the flywheel (it spins when you start the engine ).
