A vehicle is made heavy at its bottom so that to keep it's centre of gravity a s low as possible.

A lower center of gravity helps keep it stable, moreover, the base is made wide so that the vertical line passing through the centre of the gravity should not get out of its base during a turn.

Cars are made wide to lower their centre of gravity

This helps in handling,and has less chances to roll
