There are several possible causes. A few:
Why would a 2001 toyota tacoma not sift gears when engine is cold?
the oil heats up in the transmission and the gears slide easier check the transmission oil and think of a possible change of oil
No, changing the battery has no effect on how hot or cold the engine runs. The battery has one purpose and that is to store electricity that is used to start the engine and run the electronics on the vehicle. The alternator keeps the battery fully charged.
I have no idea but mine does the same thing. Shifting into 3rd gear I guess 80 -100km/h in cold weather only. As soon as it heats up it shifts fine. The sportage is programmed not to shift to 3rd until the engine is at least 155 degrees
to my knowledge the 206's are all fuel injected, so the cold start is controlled by the engine ECU.
On the dipstick it will say cold and hot. Fill the trans fluid until the level reads hot, shifts the gears from park all the way down to low gears a few times recheck the level fill as needed.
Check engine oil when you have just finished driving. Check Transmission fluid when the car is running and the transmission in in N (manual) or P (automatic).
nope...think about replacing the tranny. Check salvage yards.
your automatic choke is fouled up or misadjusted for your temperature zone.
To adjust an automatic choke, first ensure the engine is cold, then locate the choke mechanism, usually on the carburetor. Check the owner's manual for specific adjustment procedures, as they can vary by vehicle. Typically, you can adjust the choke by turning a screw or lever to modify its tension or position. After making adjustments, start the engine to test the choke's operation, ensuring it opens properly as the engine warms up.
Means to start the engine while it is cold (And has not been running for a few hours so the engine has gone cold)
because the engine is cold and you need to keep the engine warm.
