∙ 15y agoGas does not spontaneously explode. There has to be an ignition source, as when lighting a fire. The ignition source would have to be a spark from a fire. Gasoline in itself is not an explosive device that when agitated will explode. The myth that gasoline explodes upon agitation is false, and gas only explodes when it is ignited in some sort of way by a fire, or constant source of extreme heat.

Because there is no spark or flame present. If the tank is full it wont even explode if you throw a match in it, However if the tank has a large area that has no liquid fuel in it then the addition of a lit match or spark will cause it to explode.
Cars do not typically explode in lava because lava is not flammable like gasoline or other combustible fuels. However, the extreme heat from lava can cause cars to melt and catch fire.
Because it's a liquid. Because it needs a spark to ignite, which is why in come cases, if you are on a cell phone, or you are smoking, it will cause the entire gas tank/station to explode! KABOOM! :)

YES Only if the gun shot causes a spark and hits a part of the tank with fuel vapors in it. Shooting a lead slug in to a tank full of fuel is not likely to cause an explosion.
they explode because like in a crash a spark from metal touch the gas tank and ignites it. but mostly the gas tank is ripped open and a spark touches it and ignites it. it's not really like in the movies I have seen vehicles crash and burn to the ground and the fuel tank never explodes. Like mentioned above, it's only in the movies.

Gasoline needs both fuel and oxygen to ignite and create an explosion. When a car's gas tank is full, there is limited oxygen present in the tank, which prevents the gasoline from exploding. Additionally, modern cars have safety measures in place to prevent ignition, such as sealed fuel tanks and vapor recovery systems.
