If by "stop the engine", you mean turn the car off, then the answer is NO!

i have a dodge magnum o5 and when i put fuel in the car and take off from the gas station and stop at a light the engine shut off what is causing this problem
Your car might turn off when you come to a stop because the car has an electrical problem or a problem with the distributor. It might also turn off when you come to a stop because of a timing issue.
If your car is stuck on the tracks, and a train is approaching- then YES- get OUT of the car and get off the tracks. It is not that the train engineer does not want to stop, it is that he CANNOT stop- it may take a mile or more in distance to fully stop a heavy train. You will lose the car, but you will keep your life.
