I can't think of anything that would be placed under a passengers seat that would do that, so look for a power wire to a remote amplifier installed after market, a possible power seat motor malfunction or seat heater problem.
Problem is that any of these would be fused and would blow the fuse long before smoking, so it would have to be incorrectly installed without a fuse.
Or someone dropped a burning cigarette under the seat.
It depends on what color of smoke and how it smells. The question is somewhat vague. However, if the smoke is white it is due to burning oil. Black is from burning gasoline. If the smoke is coming from the exhaust pipe then you either have leaking valves or oil is blowing past the piston rings, both are significant problems. If the smoke is coming from under the hood the most likely issue would be leaking valve covers or a leaking PCV valve. Hope this helps, if not give some specifics on the smoke and I can better help you.
white smoke = Leaking water (anti-freeze) head gasket, bad water pump... cracked block... p blue smoke = burning oil i would suggest a leaking head gasket
Sounds like you have a blown headgasket or cracked head. The smoke and smell is likely the oil leaking from your broken engine and burning off.
It would help to know where the "smoke" is coming from and what it looks or smells like. For example, white smoke from the engine compartment after a recent oil change could just be burning oil that spilled on your engine or pipes. Smoke from under the car with an acrid sweet smell could suggest problems with your transmission. Generally speaking smoke means something is overheating, so try and determine the area of the car from which the smoke is coming. Check all your fluid levels and make sure you're not running your car low on oil or other vital fluids.
If its smoking under the hood, you may have an exhaust leak. Get it checked out ASAP. If its smoking excessively from the tailpipe, white smoke means youre burning oil, black smoke means youre burning too much fuel (mixture is too rich)... Also get it checked out.
It is under the front passenger seat.It is under the front passenger seat.
put a wet cloth over your lower face, crawl down on the floor under the smoke, try to get to a window
If you see smoke coming from under the hood of your vehicle this indicates a serious problem. Your car is overheating, this could be because of low coolant in the radiator or another problem with the radiator.
If it is white smoke you probably have something in the electrical system burning. If it is actually steam, your vehicle is overheating. Either way I wouldn't operate the vehicle until I knew what it was and had it corrected.
Be sure that it's really white smoke. White smoke indicates coolant/water. Blue smoke is oil burning. Black is transmission or brake fluids.Next, is the smoke from the hood or the exhaust? If it's under the hood then maybe you spilled some oil on the engine during the refill. Out of the exhaust, hmmm........
The duration of Under Burning Skies is 1020.0 seconds.
Balck smoke usually means the engine is burning rich - that is to say, more fuel is being delivered to the combustion chamber than can be ignited by the spark plugs. Keeping a good tuneup schedule and clean-up/replacement of sprak plugs will prevent, or at least minimize the black smoke under heavy acceleration.
