What you know about inertia to explain why you feel pressed back into the seat of a car when it accelerates?

fairly straightforward. All bodies will remain in their steady state unless acted on by an outside force. A car will not move unless the engine drives it (or gravity takes it down hill) A car will not stop unless you apply the brakes (or hit a wall) So, a moving thing will keep moving and a stopped thing will stay stopped. When you are sitting in a stationary car you are also stationary (obvious) the acceleration is applied to the car and transmitted to you through the seat. As your body is hinged at the middle your bum goes forward with the seat, but your upper body is following the 'steady state' rule and does not begin to move forward until it comes into contact with the back of the seat. The seat is moving forward and you are not (for a short time) Therefore you feel pressed into the seat It is actually the seat that is pushing you.

They are attached to the body under the back of the seat. If you can not see them they may have fallen back to the floor. You should be able to reach in between the seat bottom and back of seat, feel around until you find them and pull them back up.

How to Remove rear seat 1970 gto?

There are two "clips" that the seat spring framework hook into that hold it in place, at the bottom of the seat. To remove push down and back toward the back of the car (hard) on the bottom of the seat near where it meets the floor, and lift up when you feel them disengauge. They are located under the back seat on the floor behind the front seats. If you put your hand onder the seat you will be able to feel their location. Do one side at a time. No tools are reqired to get the lower part of the seat out, the upper part of the seat back clips in at the top and bolts down at the bottom. It is a simple process but requires a good bit of muscle to get them out.

What is a g in physics?

A "g" in physics is usually the force a person experiences when they are travelling at speed and change direction. When you are in a car and the driver takes a sharp turn to the right unexpectedly, everyone lurches to the left and probably say some unkind words. They have experienced a "g-force". Another example of "g" is when the driver hits the brakes firmly and you slide forwards off your seat. When the driver accelerates, you are pressed back into your seat by a mysterious "g-force". Fighter pilots experience the greatest g-forces. When they pull out of a dive, and have the blood drained out of their heads, they might feel three times as heavy as normal. That would be a three G pull-out.
