turn the dimmer up.
generally at night.
No, its a bad earth somewhere
A weak alternator and/or battery.
pretty much, if your impalas like mine, when you start the car, your headlights will come on, but you should have a little nob to the left of your steering wheel. it should be in the middle, if you pull it out, your lights will stay on, even after turning off your car, if you push it all the way in, your lights will turn off, you can also turn it to adjust brightness of dome lights and dash lights.
They are supposed to dim try turning the wheel that brightens them up on the dash or the switch itself.
You might have automatic lights. The sensor is on top of the dash on the left side. If you have that there is a switch to turn it off.
They should just dim. By turning the headlights on, the engineers assumed it would be dark. Often there's a knob or wheel on the dash where you can adjust the brightness of your gauge lights.
you take out the DRL fuse under the dash. that's the daytime running lights.
Check fuse for parking/tailights common circuit
AnswerI assume that you mean why won't the headlights turn off when I turn them off at night. The 98 Malibu has a light sensor that automatically turns on the head lights when it senses a low light condition. Unless there is sufficient light from some other source directed at this sensor, the head lights will not turn off when you turn them off using the switch on the dash panel. They will only go off when the head light switch is in the lights off position and the car is shut off.The only other way to turn the headlights off while the vehicle is running in low-light conditions, is to set the parking brake prior to starting the vehicle. This will prevent both Headlights and Day-Time Running lights from turning on when the vehicle is running.
The fog light control is in the center stack of the dash , just to the right of the radio Turn your park lamps or low beam headlights on and push the foglight control button to turn on the fog lights , push it again to turn off the fog lights
