There is no reason for the color, but they have vans cause they will park next to the driver door of another car and when that person goes to get into their car he can easily slide open the doors and grab you. That is why if you ever see a van parked by your door you should get in on the other side or if there are two vans then have someone you trust walk you to your car. Also check your car before you get in for anyone who may be hiding and don't use your automatic device to unlock your car until you are within reaching distance because someone may be waiting to jump in.
