There its too much current running through them. If they are hooked up properly then you either have a short some where (positive wire that is touching ground) or the jumper cables can't handle the current demanded by the vehicle you are trying to start. If this is the problem, you need jumper cables that are a thicker gage wire.
Jumper Cables. If your battery has died, you may be able to use jumper cables to jump start it from some good Samaritan_Ü_s vehicle. If you can safely use jumper cables on your vehicle, make sure that the battery on the good Samaritan_Ü_s vehicle has at least as much voltage as your own.
If they are hooked up right and the motor won't turn over, you could have a bad battery cable in the car you are trying to start. Try hooking the negative jumper directly to the motor block, if it starts then, you have a bad ground cable. If not, try hooking the positive jumper to the terminal on the starter.
If the tractor had a battery in it when you were jumping it, there is a chance that the battery is bad. Try unhooking the tractors battery and trying again. Hook your jumper cables to the battery cables themselves without being attached to the battery. If it runs then just replace the battery. A battery with a short in it will keep the mower from charging and could cause it to die. If there was no battery in the tractor when you were jumping it, then the tractor is not charging and will have to be diagnosed as to what the problem is.
There are many reasons a radio fuse can blow. However, if it happened while trying to jump-start a vehicle, most likely what happened is the cables were hooked up to the battery backwards.
First take the battery cables off and clean BOIH ends. Then make sure there is a good ground between the engine and body--VERY IMPORTANT- Then let the jumper cables stay on for about 1/2 hour before trying to start it. If nothing it could be the starter. It needs to be checked out,./
I am trying to get people to spell correctly!
With component cables only the red and white are for sound and the other 3 are for video.
Go to the discussion tab and explain what you are trying to do.
Possibly by spelling the word correctly? You're not trying to LEAN ... you're trying to LEARN
why were there sparks when cabels were hooked up when trying to jump start car is it safe to try and jump start car again
Upon trying to turn over the motor the battery became weak, and I have been trying to jump start the ATC. The atc three wheeler does not seem to be getting spark to the spark plug. Could it be that there is not enough juice being carried through the jumper cables? therefore not allowing it to start. Just to share some. Visit link below, Hope it's help.
