Seriously, though, even if you're standing somewhere illegally (a marked no-standing zone), other drivers have an obligation to see you and avoid hitting you. Many no-standing zones are placed to prevent dangers to other drivers, so the driver of a car standing in such a zone may have some liability if their standing vehicle created an obstacle and forced other drivers to take additional risks (driving on wrong side of street, etc). I wonder if the person asking this question was thinking of suing the owner of the building. Sorry, but no luck. His property or actions did not contribute to the accident.
