When you look at the grooved side of the belt and you see a lot of cracks or chunks missing going across the face of the belt.

The easiest way to test a belt tensioner is to pull upward on the belt. The belt should be tight with very little slack if the tensioner is working.
Either way
This should be very simple. You have a belt tensioner that keeps the belt tight. You should be able to use a 1/2 drive breaker bar to hold the idler up from the belt & remove the belt. Unless the springs are broken in it. This happens on lots of fords. The tensioner sometimes will get the belt so tight it will break the face off the alternator. I doubt you have this problem. Maybe you are pushing the wrong way on your breaker bar. Hope this helps If this is your problem you will have to have a new one
The same way he talks to you face-to-face. And politely.
not really you should do it face to face or by email
there should be a model on the frame somewhere under the hood. You use whats called a tensioner to loosen the belts tightness on the wheels. It will have a bolt head on the face of it. you simply get a wrench that fits the head and push down and you should see it spin out of line, thus making more room for the belt after you find this it should be pretty easy to follow the diagram to get the belt on the rest of the way correctly
The proper way to wear a seatbelt is to wear it snugly against the body. With a should belt, it should be over your shoulder, not under. When wearing a lap belt, it should not go across the stomach, but lowered near the pelvic bone.
The way you change the serpentine belt is be decreasing the pressure on the tensioners. There are key pressure points you should press to release the belt.
Caring for an alligator belt is fairly simply. With proper care, an alligator belt can last up to 6 years. The best way to care for it is by keeping it dry and clean. One should never use cleaning products on an alligator belt. It should be cleaned every couple months using a damp cloth.
