If there is one bulb per side the bulb has two filaments in it - one high and one low. If there are two headlight bulbs per side each bulb has one filament - one is low, one is high. The easiest way to check is to look at the bulbs with the low beam, then with the high beam on. Note which lights are on and their location.
The reason a high beam indicator light might remain on in the dash of a 2005 Nissan Sentra might be a short in the wiring for the high beam headlights. It could also mean a short in the wiring of the steering wheel where the high beam switch is located.
In the headlight assembly...
The high beam indicator light will be located on the right side of the instrument panel. It is in the same housing as the check engine, choke, brake, and seat belt indicator lights. The high beam indicator is the only blue one, making it easier to find.

The types of construction lights that are available are high voltage beam light and a low voltage beam light. The high voltage beam light shines a lot brighter.
For Low beam and high beam, it is H1 bulb.

Open the hood & near the top of the headlight you will see 2 bolts (10mm), remove them. You will notice the whole headlight assembly is loose from the top. Look down into the headlight assembly to the left & you will see another 10mm bolt that connects the outside light fixture. Remove the bolt & that light fixture will fall out (top first). Behind that light fixture you will see your last bolt when you look at the front of the vehicle. Remove it & now the entire light assembly will slide out & give you access to the both high beam & low beam bulbs. Hope this helps.
The high beam switch for the Subaru Liberty is located on the left side of the steering wheel. It is on the same lever that the cruise control is located. The lever is either forward or back depending on whether high or low beam is wanted.
It is generally a small blue light that illuminates in the dash cluster notifying you that your high beam headlights are on.
