Do a GOOGLE search of the model #. I found it is a 9 SEER package unit, circa 2000. Goodman also made it under the Janitrol and Kenmore names.
According to the Goodman Mfg. website, this model is a 10 seer.
The filter for a Goodman furnace is typically located in or near the blower compartment. It can usually be found in a slot on the side or bottom of the furnace unit, or in the return air duct. Depending on the model, you may need to remove a panel or grille to access it. It's essential to check and replace the filter regularly to ensure optimal performance and air quality.
That is a 3 1/2 ton unit. one ton of A/C = 12000 btu. The 42 in the model number refers to 42000 btu.
It would depend on the model of the Goodman unit.
