The EVAP vent solenoid on a 2006 GMC Sierra is on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is on a bracket next to the gas tank.

It is located directly in front of the fuel tank, on the frame above the purge vapor canister.
On the engine near the starter. It is accessible by removing the driver side front wheel and inner skirt.
