there is a gearbox in the middle of the rear axle with a drain nut on the bottom and a fill nut on the top
The only place you would use gear oil is in the rear differential and or front differential if it is a 4+4. The differentials have a fill plug.
5 quarts
the only place you put gear oil is in the rear end. Look on the differential and on the back there is a large nut, remove it to put in the CORRECT gear oil.
same as motor gn4 Honda motor oil
The fill hole is located about half way up the rear differential, fill it to where you put the fluid in, there is no way to get any more oil into it then that and it will be at the right level, you can also drain it into a measuring cup to see the exact fill the factory put in.
The Honda 450 foreman 98-04 is air and oil cooled and does not require antifreeze or coolant.
There is a bolt on the bottom of the differential. Remove it and let the oil drain. once drained re-install the bolt. Now put new oil in it. there is a 17mm cap. Remove it and fill it up with 90w oil until it just barley runs out the cap hole. Put the cap back on. Done.
I have a Yamaha 350 big bear, and differential drain plug is on the bottom of the differential. Just remove the plug and let it drain, put the plug back in and fill it back up... i use just regular gear oil

GN-4 10w-40 Honda motor
there should be a square opening on the front differential cover. There, you can install a 3/8 inch ratchet. the plug itself is like a socket.
