Hello,
I too recently purchased a Big Four tire changer machine and suggest the first parts you need to check are the "check valves" on the air cylinder and the two air valves for operating the center post. My tire changer looked great but would not function properly. I could make it work fine if I placed my finger over the check valves previously mentioned. I discovered that all of the checkvalves were missing the rubberized diaphragm inside the check valves. This diaphragm is exactly the diameter of a US copper penny and about the thickness of 1 1/2 pennies. I purchased some rubberized cork gasket material and it worked fine, but I doubt it will last very long. I am looking for a gasket material that is rubber with cloth inside (vulcanized). My tire changer works great and I hope to use it many years without breaking both arms in the process of using it. It is a beast when it comes to power and makes mounting and dismounting a tire very easy. Note: you will not be able to find parts for this tire changer. I purchased two of them and the only part I have needed is the diaphragm I mentioned earlier. The piston in one of my machines was cracked and I had to weld/repair it and it functions fine now.
